Andy InstoneAndy is considered to be one of the UK’s leading experts in Street Dance. He has made it his mission for last 15 years to travel and learn from the pioneers of authentic street dance, funk styles and Hip Hop Culture. Andy has learnt from 16 pioneers to date and he specialises in educating, choreographing and performing Breakin, Hip Hop, House, Lockin and Poppin. His work has been seen on 36 TV Channels, in 128 countries and by 1.73 billion people worldwide. He is known for delivering the most exciting, inspirational and authentic street dance experience possible to audiences around the world, delivered with passion, positivity and fun.

Andy’s performance career has seen him dance on the main stage at Glastonbury with headline act Basement Jaxx in front of a live audience of 120’000 people. He has performed in every space imaginable starting off in small school performances and shopping malls and growing to perform on Pop Videos with international rap artists, over 100 arena performances and including shows at The Royal Albert Hall, The O2 arena, Manchester MEN Arena, Newcastle Metro arena, Sheffield Hallam arena, both Birmingham LG arena and Birmingham NIA arena, Belfast Odyssey arena and Dublin’s RDS. As well as headlining along side Dela Soul at the Sky’s Art festival. He has worked closely on several projects with Underground Beatbox legend Beardyman and has directed shows with vocal percussive artist Shlomo.

Now a multi award winner Andy has judged for the, “World HIP HOP CHAMPIONSHIP (UK)”, “UK STREET DANCE CHAMPIONSHIP”, “Street Dance XXL (formerly Street Dance Weekend) “The Jump Off” and the UK Vauxhall Tribes Top Urban Talent Tour. Andy is an International master class teacher and has created works in Dubai, Cannes, Los Angeles and Prague.

He has worked with many major international stars such as Dizzee Rascal, Sean Paul and Alexandra Burke to name but a few. He has even taught Sir Richard Branson how to dance! He has choreographed and directed 4 best selling DVDs and is Artisitc Director of Urban Strides. Andy has choreographed for Her Majesty the Queen, twice!

Andy has been an active educator of authentic Street dance styles and is committed to ensure the right knowledge, essence, beauty and philosophy of Street Dance and hip Hop culture is passed on to those who need it most and the standard of education and professionalism is as high as possible. Andy’s Crew Urban strides has had the privilege of making history twice the 1st in 2005 when Urban Strides were the first authentic Street Dance crew to perform in the opening of the Royal Variety Performance in the presence of Her majesty the Queen. The 2nd in 2010 when Andy created the world’s first accredited authentic Street Dance teacher training qualification.

Andy is also Creative Director of “Young Voices” concert series where every year he choreograph and directs 18 arena performances and teaches over 200’000 school children in the world’s largest choir. He also became a World Record holder when he directed the world’s largest choir in 2012.
