Hey hey hey…..Want can I say? Just refleecting on the wicked time I’ve also had teaching at this years HHDS08. High Wycombe….it’s a standard procedure!!! Y’all be onnit like SONIC!!! Just hungry to eat eat eat more knowledge! Y’all suprise me the way y’all took to the SPOUNCH concept. I loved Dickson suprising me with a hot beat all da time. But the circle jam at the end…y’all smacked it!!! 40mins non stop?!! Dat’s the shizzle i’m talkin bout!!!!!
Liverpool….I love the city! The students came correct…with an open mind and really pushed themselves. My experience teaching my Liverpool connects have made me think about how I’ll develop my teaching even further. I really enjoyed the lunchtime hang outs n chats. Trust Liverpool, y’all need to tell ur friends about this cos URBAN STRIDES r coming for u!!! Standard procedure, blad!!!!

if i could sum up Hip Hop Don’t Stop in a few words, I simply couldn’t do it! They were the two best weeks of my life and I loved it! From “getting to work” with JP to “feelin the funk” with Andy, I enjoyed it more and more as the weeks went by! Big love and thanks to Andy for organising this incredible event, and of course we can’t forget the main lady Alison for making it all happen! Urban Strides Fam all day every day represent! Wus up ma funk junkiez. Hip hop dnt stop 08 in liverpool woz serious dis year. Da funk dat woz flyin around Lipa woz too much and it hit evry1. I loved it as always jus sad dat its ova. Andy u rocked dis yr ur lockin woz jus wow da energy woz jus massive i liked da class but im not a locker so i found it harder to get into da funk of it all but it woz gd. Sam i still love her from the first yr i went she is jus great i love her style so much n i love the way she gives u confidence. JP is jus too much jokes i cud neva b serious in his class e jus cracked me up the breakin class woz sik i loved it even tho i no i will neva b a b-gyal but i tried and he always had a positive attitude i love u man. BUT!!!! ALEX o my i actualli love this guy he is amazin he is my inspiration. I love his style the way he teaches and his attitude. I felt i cud connect to him coz poppin is my passion and he always had tym to talk me fru stuff and i woz jus amazed by it i will defoz b comin to his classes. Thanks so much for such a great week for Theo and his friends. He loved it. It was so good to see them all at the end of week circle - what fun everyone was having. It was contagious - even us Mums could “feel the vibe”!
Wanted to say to any parents worried about letting their own kids get involved in the hip-hop scene through Urban Strides, that they should not worry. It is one of the most exhilarating, energising, challenging and fun activities that my boys have ever taken part in. There is no swearing, no aggression, no bad feelings. Everyone is encouraged to achieve by just feeling the music and lettting themselves move to it. There can be few activities where the talented, exceptional, senior or more experienced allow those who are new or young or less gifted to shine at their own level. Indeed it seems they are actively encouraged to participate - to show their own moves to the group. Noone is humiliated, laughed at or made to feel small. I saw all kids walking out of there looking 10ft tall! Forget all you have ever thought about hip-hop and hoodies - this is what it is to be young, to have fun and to be safe. Andy - why oh why, can’t you start a class for us 40-something Mums!!!! I’m sure I could pop and lock with the best of them! (Yeah right, Mum - Beno & Theo) Love you for what you give to the kids - thanks. Ann xxx

Absolutely LOVED hiphopdon’tstop - it was wicked how it wasn’t all about learning the routines but concentrating on the way you’re feeling the music when delivering them and in creating your own style too! All the instructors are absolute legends and taught me so much, I really can’t believe how much of a difference 5 days can make to dancing with confidence- Defo coming bk next year for more, with 2 friends

For my third post since HHDS began just wanna say, I used to think that locking was one of the hardest Hip Hop styles around, and yet in 3-4 hours of locking technique and moves, I can freestyle with ease. Thank you Andy, for spreading to us the seeds of Hip Hop enlightenment and teaching us to listen to the moosic, play with rythm, use variations, and above all, lock it out like a pro. Nuff love still Greg x x

You wanted some feedback on the last term so here it goes, You might want to sit down….. just kidding.
This last term was amazing, we may not have done to much of waving, poping, locking etc but you really open up are eyes to the possibilities or hip hop freestyle. The LSD formula was especially helpfull (Level,speed,directions) and gave us plenty to work on over the summer. Dancing is really like a drug the more u give us the more we want.
Because of you i feel like i really understand music and find really hard not to move to it whatever is on. In fact even when i am in the gym as a cardio i do rope skipping mixed up with a some crazy footwork,people probably think i completely lost it.
In september it will be 2 years of taking your classes and if i was ever to leave UK this is what i would probably miss most.
I will also try to do the intermediate class in Aylesbury so hopefully there will be so space left, simply because i’d like to take it to a next level. If i went from nothing to being what i am today who knows what will happen in another 2years.
Good luck with Hip Hop don’t stop i bet it will be awesome and thanks to you and all the people that help you with the party as well as the ones running urban strides you are doing an amazing job.

I read some message sthat you were at ousedale school today how cool i teach there too on a wednesday i teach 4-9 year olds musical theatre.
I’m so glad i came back to class today i feel really inspired when i’m there and learn so much in such a short space of time. It’s a shame the lessons dont go on longer. Some on the show reels you have on this site are fooking awesome aswell that one with you and the kid wearing the red berret is the bomb.

i like 2 dance…i really do, but sometimes my feet take over and i feel out of control (kinda freaky don’t ya think?) i then go all tingly like a christmas tree and my legs rub together and start to smell like cheese ( brie i think). as an experianced dancer i wondered if once a upon a time you hav also expericned this and therefore have cream (chaffing cream i think youl find) that you could hook me up with?

Great speech! Really opened my eyes that anything is possible if you have the right mind set. The presentation was really inspirational to me and all my friends, everyone was still talking about it for ages anyway … I don’t think the philosophies you live by will be forgotten here!
Your talk today was inspirational and i took in everything you said. Ive always dreamed of being a professional musician with my band, were called ‘Shining Colours’ and it would be great if youd check out our myspace etc. This is me asking for something like you said today, and all those pictures of you dancing at Glastombury were amazing. Your talk was great and I got to see your awesome van too which was a plus. I want one now. I took in everything you said and I now have a renewed focus too.

Year 6 are still buzzing - and so are the staff!!
Both classes ended the day on such a high. Not only did they learn some amazing moves, but they were filled with masses of confidence and self esteem. You were an inspiration to them.

Do i miss the classes, that is so not fair having such a long break but at least i thought i’ll have a chance to work on my freestyle and wanted to finally master gliding. Unfortunately my gym decided to drop the bomb on me this sunday. So now on i can no longer use the studio(which i’ve been using for the last year every sunday) because of some health&safety crap. This really got me upset and left me with nowhere to train, since my flat is really small for practice. I spoke to some managers there and they seemed quite brainwashed, it is like talking to a wall. What is the purpose of gym if they don’t encourage you to stay active. Not sure where i going to train now but hopefully i figure out something, hope your bank holiday weekend was better than mine. Top 9 from Russia were pretty good too but your original choreography, variety of your act and the passion with which it was delivered was immense and that is why you got the most amazing reaction from the crowd.

Hey hey hey…..Want can I say? Just refleecting on the wicked time I’ve also had teaching at this years HHDS08. High Wycombe….it’s a standard procedure!!! Y’all be onnit like SONIC!!! Just hungry to eat eat eat more knowledge! Y’all suprise me the way y’all took to the SPOUNCH concept. I loved Dickson suprising me with a hot beat all da time. But the circle jam at the end…y’all smacked it!!! 40mins non stop?!! Dat’s the shizzle i’m talkin bout!!!!!
Liverpool….I love the city! The students came correct…with an open mind and really pushed themselves. My experience teaching my Liverpool connects have made me think about how I’ll develop my teaching even further. I really enjoyed the lunchtime hang outs n chats. Trust Liverpool, y’all need to tell ur friends about this cos URBAN STRIDES r coming for u!!! Standard procedure, blad!!!!

if i could sum up Hip Hop Don’t Stop in a few words, I simply couldn’t do it! They were the two best weeks of my life and I loved it! From “getting to work” with JP to “feelin the funk” with Andy, I enjoyed it more and more as the weeks went by! Big love and thanks to Andy for organising this incredible event, and of course we can’t forget the main lady Alison for making it all happen! Urban Strides Fam all day every day represent! Wus up ma funk junkiez. Hip hop dnt stop 08 in liverpool woz serious dis year. Da funk dat woz flyin around Lipa woz too much and it hit evry1. I loved it as always jus sad dat its ova. Andy u rocked dis yr ur lockin woz jus wow da energy woz jus massive i liked da class but im not a locker so i found it harder to get into da funk of it all but it woz gd. Sam i still love her from the first yr i went she is jus great i love her style so much n i love the way she gives u confidence. JP is jus too much jokes i cud neva b serious in his class e jus cracked me up the breakin class woz sik i loved it even tho i no i will neva b a b-gyal but i tried and he always had a positive attitude i love u man. BUT!!!! ALEX o my i actualli love this guy he is amazin he is my inspiration. I love his style the way he teaches and his attitude. I felt i cud connect to him coz poppin is my passion and he always had tym to talk me fru stuff and i woz jus amazed by it i will defoz b comin to his classes. Thanks so much for such a great week for Theo and his friends. He loved it. It was so good to see them all at the end of week circle - what fun everyone was having. It was contagious - even us Mums could “feel the vibe”!
Wanted to say to any parents worried about letting their own kids get involved in the hip-hop scene through Urban Strides, that they should not worry. It is one of the most exhilarating, energising, challenging and fun activities that my boys have ever taken part in. There is no swearing, no aggression, no bad feelings. Everyone is encouraged to achieve by just feeling the music and lettting themselves move to it. There can be few activities where the talented, exceptional, senior or more experienced allow those who are new or young or less gifted to shine at their own level. Indeed it seems they are actively encouraged to participate - to show their own moves to the group. Noone is humiliated, laughed at or made to feel small. I saw all kids walking out of there looking 10ft tall! Forget all you have ever thought about hip-hop and hoodies - this is what it is to be young, to have fun and to be safe. Andy - why oh why, can’t you start a class for us 40-something Mums!!!! I’m sure I could pop and lock with the best of them! Absolutely LOVED hiphopdon’tstop - it was wicked how it wasn’t all about learning the routines but concentrating on the way you’re feeling the music when delivering them and in creating your own style too! All the instructors are absolute legends and taught me so much, I really can’t believe how much of a difference 5 days can make to dancing with confidence- Defo coming bk next year for more, with 2 friends

My mum keeps getting annoyed with me cozz i constantly keep going on and on and my brother laughs at me when i walk down the street!
This year was amazing and it should all happen again like all year!!
Its made such an impact,,,my dancing has improved loads and i’ve had a massive confidence boost.
Having all tghe uber cool instructors was incredible and i learnt sooooo much

Andy, HHDS has had a very big impact on my dancing!
But the main thing is my Confidence if this week rewinded I would never of thought that I would be dancing in a circle
with all my friends, family, and Poppin Champions 07-08 and everyone else at HHDS, but you saw me there jammin away! It was such a buzz. Wish I could do it again!!

For my third post since HHDS began
just wanna say, I used to think that locking was one of the hardest Hip Hop styles around, and yet in 3-4 hours of locking technique and moves, I can freestyle with ease. Thank you Andy, for spreading to us the seeds of Hip Hop enlightenment and teaching us to listen to the moosic, play with rythm, use variations, and above all, lock it out like a pro. Nuff love still

Hi Andy,
You wanted some feedback on the last term so here it goes, You might want to sit down….. just kidding.
This last term was amazing, we may not have done to much of waving, poping, locking etc but you really open up are eyes to the possibilities or hip hop freestyle. The LSD formula was especially helpfull (Level,speed,directions) and gave us plenty to work on over the summer. Dancing is really like a drug the more u give us the more we want.
Because of you i feel like i really understand music and find really hard not to move to it whatever is on. In fact even when i am in the gym as a cardio i do rope skipping mixed up with a some crazy footwork,people probably think i completely lost it.
In september it will be 2 years of taking your classes and if i was ever to leave UK this is what i would probably miss most.
I will also try to do the intermediate class in Aylesbury so hopefully there will be so space left, simply because i’d like to take it to a next level. If i went from nothing to being what i am today who knows what will happen in another 2years.
Good luck with Hip Hop don’t stop i bet it will be awesome and thanks to you and all the people that help you with the party as well as the ones running urban strides you are doing an amazing job.

I read some message sthat you were at ousedale school today how cool i teach there too on a wednesday i teach 4-9 year olds musical theatre.

i like 2 dance…i really do, but sometimes my feet take over and i feel out of control (kinda freaky don’t ya think?) i then go all tingly like a christmas tree and my legs rub together and start to smell like cheese ( brie i think). as an experianced dancer i wondered if once a upon a time you hav also expericned this and therefore have cream (chaffing cream i think youl find) that you could hook me up with?

Hi, just to say thanks for an amazing day at Alderman Bolton Primary School on 12 June.
Year 6 are still buzzing - and so are the staff!!
Both classes ended the day on such a high. Not only did they learn some amazing moves, but they were filled with masses of confidence and self esteem. You were an inspiration to them.

Hi Andy,
Do i miss the classes, that is so not fair having such a long break but at least i thought i’ll have a chance to work on my freestyle and wanted to finally master gliding. Unfortunately my gym decided to drop the bomb on me this sunday. So now on i can no longer use the studio(which i’ve been using for the last year every sunday) because of some health&safety crap. This really got me upset and left me with nowhere to train, since my flat is really small for practice. I spoke to some managers there and they seemed quite brainwashed, it is like talking to a wall. What is the purpose of gym if they don’t encourage you to stay active. Not sure where i going to train now but hopefully i figure out something, hope your bank holiday weekend was better than mine. Heyy Andy. I was just passing through and i thought i would leave you a comment. I can’t wait to see you this saturday. You know “May” Well when i was like 6 i used to dance with her. (: So when i saw her i was like wooaa. :L Hope you’re well. All my friends are like “Why don’t you just find a dance group down here to dance with”. And im like ..”NOOOO WAYYYY, there is no one in the whole entire world like andy, and people would kill to have him teach them to dance. He’s INDIVIDUAL and i love him.

Can’t believe I’m saying this (well actually I can!) You were the BEST act at Breakin Convention last night.
Top 9 from Russia were pretty good too but your original choreography, variety of your act and the passion with which it was delivered was immense and that is why you got the most amazing reaction from the crowd.

Hi Andy,
Just watched a film called Cellular, u might have seen it, but its got a good songhouse in it to maybe to a house routine for MKRAW this year, considering the theme is movies. Know we aint really done much house, apart from bits in class sometimes. Just an idea. See ya tomorrow. Montana.

I was looking up some information on the Hip Hop culture as I’m trying to teach some aspects of the Hip Hop/RnB music to my year 5 (Stage 3) students in North East London…I was hoping you would be able to give me some really needed help or give some recommendations of any organisation in London who holds workshops for both teachers and students of that age. Was passing by thought i would leave a comment, anyway this is to andy… I met you once and you have taught me lots even though it was four moves using that i can use “CREATIVITY” to create lots of routines. All you need is “CONFIDENCE”. You are tooo sick! tooo wicked!! you can cheer people up easily, one extraa good thing about you. Try and come and teach us some more.
